An Original Story About the Struggles of Spirited Women in the Athens of the South

SAYRE is an original and immersive musical written by Bel Stuart and Emily Dodson. Set at a women owned metaphysical coffee shop in modern day Music City, it explores our history and future as it relates to women’s and civil rights. You will encounter a diverse cast inspired by the mythology of Greek muses as they express themselves in true Nashville fashion over the course of an evening at an open mic night. This show shines a spotlight on current issues for women in Tennessee with a heartfelt and honest approach. We do explore sensitive topics that may be triggering including sexual assault, domestic violence, mental health and lgtbq+ discrimination. The power of community becomes a beacon as our cast navigates difficulties and trauma in the best way they know how… in front of an audience.
